Fortunately, a CDL, or commercial driver’s license, is not necessary to operate a box truck as long as its Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, or GVWR, remains under 26,000 lbs. If you satisfy this requirement, you do not need any extra training or qualifications to drive a box truck.
